We had some baked apples last week and I thought it was so good, that I have to share this recipe. Hope you will like it. I took one big apple per person and per apple 3 heaped teaspoons of filling. Begin with preparing the filling (minimum) 5 hours before baking the apples. You need: raisins or you can use a mixture of dried apricots and plums (chop them in small dices) - 1 1/2 heaped teaspoon per apple. Get the same portion kribbled almonds in that Get rum over them till everything is covered. Put some teaspoons of sugar and cinnamon in (just as sweet as you like) I took 1/2 teaspoon sugar per apple because it was sugar made of fruits. Mix everything and let it infuse(? Hope I got that word right...) Then after 5 hours prepare a casserole dish with butter. And take out the core of the apples but don't slice them. The apples must be whole. You will have a kind of vertical tube afterwards in the apple. There you put the filling in. Under every apple get a very thin slice of butter in the casserole dish. Put the apples in and do a very small slice of butter of the filling. Get aluminum foil to cover them. Then get them into the oven by 200°C ( 392°F) for 15minutes. Control with a toothpick if the apples are cooked. I needed for a casserole with 6 big apples about 30minutes. When the apples are done you can get some rum (a little bit) over them and serve them - that's for the veggis not vegans - with whipped cream. I'm not that experienced in vegan food yet, so I don't know, if there's a substitution for it. Well, I hope I got that recipe in that everyone knows what I mean. It's very yummy!!! Well, enjoy your meal!!! View this orginal post in Vegan-Vegetarian Recipe discussion board
